Apple Translate’s app (Vietnamese is Translate) has received several new features in iOS 15. One of the notable additions is the automatic translation mode. That means you don’t have to interact with the screen for the part of the chat to be translated in real time. In this quick guide, we’ll show you how to enable Automatic Translation in the Apple Translate app in iOS 15 on iPhone.

It’s worth noting that the voice translation feature has existed in the Apple Translate app since it was launched on iOS 14. So even if you’re using an earlier version of iOS, you can say a phrase and translate it into your preferred language. Stock translator app listens to both languages and translates between them in real time in Conversation mode. Therefore, you can comfortably talk to someone who speaks another language.
However, iOS 14 users need to tap the microphone button before speaking in Conversation mode. The person you’re chatting with must do the same to translate their chat. But thanks to the Auto Translate feature introduced in the Apple Translate app in iOS 15, you don’t have to tap the microphone button . Or, for that matter, no one needs to interact with the iPhone’s screen before speaking their part later. Therefore, now you will be able to chat with anyone more conveniently.

1. To get started, open the Apple Translate app on your iPhone.
2. Now make sure to choose your preferred translation language for your chat. I selected English (UK) -> Italian. Then go to the Conversation tab from the bottom navigation bar.
3. Next, tap the three-dot icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. From the pop-up menu that appears, enable the Auto-Translate option . You will see a tick next to it if it is enabled.
That’s it! From now on, you won’t have to interact with the screen while using conversation mode. So you can chat comfortably like a normal chat in the real world.

Although the Apple Translate application does not support Vietnamese at this time. And it might not get a major overhaul like the redesigned Safari browser with tab groups and FaceTime with the ability to make iPhone-to-Android video calls, but it does bring some nifty upgrades in iOS 15. .
